Ah, BBC Breakfast, what a remarkable collection of idiotic comments, Daily Mail scaremongering and useless ‘human interest’ stories. I did enjoy it this morning when one of the brainless fools trilled “well the great thing about family trees is that you can use them to prove the existence of you ancestors.” Nice.
I shall immediately go and ask my dad for a copy of the family tree he put together so I can hang it on my wall and feel reassured that my ancestors did exist. This is a matter that has been worrying me of late…

Hey Tom, I gave up on newspapers years ago due to the irrelevance most contained. And, it beggers belief as to why they should swing to the left or right, I thought they should be neutral when it comes to Political parties!!! And local press!!! Jesus, if you pick up a local rag and don’t spot 10 spelling mistakes on the front page, well, you are doing well, and I will move to that area!!! And the most used comment when a crime has been committed, and the reporter quotes an eye witness (sic), all they say (and this applies to the News on TV is “Nothing like this has ever happened like this around here before”!!! MY ARSE!!!

It’s the pandering to the lowest common denominator that really pisses me off, the idiotic scaremongering they do to fill up the 24-hour news cycle that generates more fear than our, relatively stable and unchanging, crime rates are ever going to. Modern mass media has a lot to answer for, hence why I feel pretty much checked out of modern culture these days. I just notice the good bits that float to the top, the rest like Big Brother I blank out!

It appears that supply and demand (from the masses) has taken over, and the rationale with the ever increasing number of shite (Hello) type mags??? I mean, who the fuck wants to read or see Mr Big Brother, (runner up from 2003) at a cashpoint!!! Like you say, it is aimed at the lowest common denominator, and the bollox that they put on the news one day, say the last bird flu scare, people in the Valleys were staying in doors and away from the seaside, thinking that the seagulls could kill them by just flying around there airspace!!! Fascinating, honestly…
