Mini-rant of the day

Thank you Amazon for assuming I’m a retard. While I might be odd, when I find a new word or am reminded of an obscure one I often put it into Amazon to see if anyone’s done a book with that in the title, just to see what’s picked up. Today’s word is “Cant” and I’d have thought it could be a good word to use in a title myself, hence my checking to see if anyone else has used it and if so, in what context. I don’t have a plot idea yet, but I like to write play with possible titles and see whether anything fires in my brain.

Of course, Amazon just assumes I don’t know what an apostrophe is and gives me 5000 results on the lines of ‘Giraffes can’t dance’. Useful.

  1. Cant without ‘ in the Title

Yes, there allready is one Book : Paul R. Fisher’s 4th Volume of his
Ash Staff Trilogy (yes, no Joke) : Mont Cant Gold.
It’s labeled “Magic Quest” on the Cover. The Publisher is unknown (at
    least to me…).

Excellent, thank you! It sounds like a classic that one. For some reason I thought there was a book called “the Cant” or something like that, but it might be just a title I saw when wading through unsolicited piles at an old job.

Hmm, publisher is Atheneum – not certain but I think they’re a vanity press. Just in case you were interested… No? Fair enough then, just me…
