This dismal little reminder of how publishing was in the 70’s actually cheered me up. Things might not be great with supermarkets driving a disgusting level of discounting and bookshops extorting payments from the publishers as ‘marketing contributions’ but the books that are available aren’t so bad as we all sometimes think.
