Sure, family reasons…

So Ruth Kelly’s stepped down from the cabinet for family reasons. As a professed close friend of the PM, certainly it makes good timing coming a few hours after his big speech at the party conference… If she’d resigned in protest at his leadership, she’d be exiling herself from future posts no matter who takes charge afterwards, so does it sound to anyone else like she’s thinking she wants to be PM in future?

One could almost feel sorry for the muppet in charge of our country. It’s not his fault he’s an incredibly dull man, nor that he’s a lifeless leader, a person incapable of smiling convincingly (my god, most politicians can fake that well enough, he can’t even do it for real!), nor that he’s inherited a load of problems that are messing up the country while he was in charge. But he was running the treasury for all the time these problems were building up, he did royally screw our pensions, and it is most certainly his fault that he’s the bloody Prime Minister without having won an election – and has been for over a year with certainly no sign of a general election coming any time soon because he’s a power-hungry shit who prefers holding onto what he’s got than having any shred of dignity. Or something like that anyway…
