Sitting at home, spending most of the week only in my own company, a few things have occurred to me.
Firstly, that Obama is speaking to America as though he’s already won and he needs to talk to the whole nation, while McCain is jabbering on about the same scaremongering rubbish he has been for ages now, while resembling my mate Nat’s impression of a leprechaun more than a president.
Secondly, that I clearly have some really cool fans judging by the fanfiction that’s just been posted on my website; it looks like someone’s starting a novel and I’m keen to see what happens next!
Thirdly, I love working at home. Three days a week to write instead of sit in the office probably won’t do much for my social skills, but they were never much to write home about anyway and I’m really enjoying the chance to sit there and write. Most particularly at this time of year, I’m finishing for the day after the sun’s gone down and I have a lovely view of the sun setting over Clapham Common. Considering that I’m writing the Twilight Reign, the fact that I can now turn my head and watch the twilight deepen is a real pleasure. I still feel a bit guilty about enjoying the sight as I remember that someone died when the tree fell and opened that view up, but there’s not a lot I can do about it so I’m just going to leave out a glass of wine and a candle for him on Halloween and hope he’s gone on somewhere better.
Oh… FF?
::toddles off to website, toddles back:: Hmmm where?
(ahem still trying to find the time to sit down and read Twilight…)
It’s in the forum, create a character – someone clearly got over excited with the idea and started a novel! Brilliant!
Ah – found it thankyou!
Will have to wait to read it though!

Bless you, sir. That’s a lovely sentiment.
Well I’m not a serious pagan like some I know but it’s something I’ve done for a couple of years and seems to be in keeping with the history of Halloween. Whatever your beliefs on ghosts etc remembering the dead can only be a good thing.
Heh. I had no idea it was part of the pagan tradition, I just thought it was a lovely, er, thought. Makes a lot of sense to me, though, pagan or not!
;0) Well I think there is a tradition of having a candle to guide back the ancestors on Halloween, often with food or drink to welcome them.
